How Mere protects your menstrual health data

Learn what Mere collects, why it is used, how it is protected and how users can access or delete their account data.

By Daniela Decillis — Founder of Mere, Wellness Coach (BSc & MSc Psychology). Nutrition, mind & the female cycle. London, UK. About Daniela

Mere protects your data by encrypting it at rest, keeping cycle and wellness logs private by default, not using your health information for advertising, and giving you a clear path to delete your account and associated data.

Why menstrual data needs extra care

WHO recognises menstrual health as a human rights and wellbeing issue. Cycle logs can reveal fertility patterns, symptoms, mood, and intimate health details. That is why Mere treats this data as sensitive — not as marketing fuel.

What Mere collects and why

Mere collects what you choose to log: cycle dates, symptoms, mood, energy, check-ins, and optional Mira conversations. This powers phase guidance, reminders, and insights inside the app. We do not sell your menstrual health data to advertisers.

Encryption and secure storage

Your data is encrypted and stored using modern security practices. Access is limited to what the app needs to function — tracking, coaching, and your account. For full technical detail, see the Privacy Policy.

Mira and third-party processing

When you use Mira, relevant prompts are processed by our AI provider to generate responses. Mere does not use Mira conversations for advertising. OpenAI's privacy policy applies to their processing. You can read more in the Privacy Policy section on Mira.

Your controls: access and deletion

You can review what you track in the app, update your profile, and request account deletion. Our account deletion page explains how to remove your Mere account and associated personal data. Health data regulations such as GDPR recognise special protections for health information — Mere is designed with privacy-first defaults.

What Mere does not do

Mere does not sell cycle data to data brokers, does not use your logs to target ads, and does not claim to be a medical record system. For clinical concerns, work with your healthcare provider; use Mere for everyday wellness awareness.

Privacy by design at Mere

Built by Daniela Decillis, Mere was created with the belief that cycle awareness should not cost your privacy. Read the full Privacy Policy for legal detail, retention periods, and contact information.
